Pack 6 collected more than 45 worn out and tattered U.S. flags on Memorial Day 2018. Troop 1 Crestwood and members of the Ernest Pasqua Post #1506 participated in the flag retirement ceremony.

During the year the Pack is happy to accept U.S. flags for retirement. Send an email to Pack6Crestwood@gmail.com to arrange pick up/or drop off.

Pinewood Derby -- Saturday, January 26

All Cub Scouts should have received their car kits from their den leaders. If you haven’t started on the car with your son, now would be a good time to get started. This is a parent/son project so be sure your son take the lead in making the car with help and guidance from you.

The Official Rules supersede the rules contained in the box your son's car came in. Be sure to use only the wood, wheels and nails that are in the box or the car will be disqualified. The top winners will go on to the District competition.

For those that are new to the Pinewood Derby, especially our Tiger and Wolf dens, besides sanding down and shaping the block of wood, everyone needs to add lead weights to the car so that it weighs up to, but no more than 5.0 ounces. You can buy the weights at the Scout Shop in Hawthorne, online at scoutstuff.org, or any hobby or craft store.

Here is a helpful video on YouTube posted by a Cub Scout dad:

Any car that is too light or too heavy or has will have a chance to make some adjustments at the "Fix It" table. The car then needs to be reweighed. Once a car is weighed in and assigned a number, your son’s car will be held onto by Troop 1.

Car Weigh & Registration: 2:30pm to 4pm School Hallway

Race Time: Doors Open at 6pm at the Gym - Do NOT Arrive before 6pm

Our thanks to Troop 1 Crestwood who will be running the race for us.

Good sportsmanship is expected. And remember, have fun!!!

Scout Sunday: 10am Mass on Feb 10

Arrive in lower church at 9:40am.

Wear Class A uniform, blue pants and black shoes.
